A commitment to
informed financial decisions
Bakti Finance was built around one straightforward idea — that financial literacy at every stage of life leads to calmer, more considered choices.
Back to HomeWhere Bakti Finance began
Bakti Finance grew from a simple observation: many Malaysians approaching retirement age had spent decades building careers and raising families, yet had never had a single structured conversation about what their financial situation actually looked like — or what their options were.
Our founders, who spent years working within Malaysia's financial sector, recognised that the gap was not a lack of wealth — it was a lack of organised financial knowledge. The tools and frameworks people needed were rarely made accessible in plain, practical language.
In 2017, Bakti Finance opened its doors in Johor Bahru with a clear purpose: to provide financial education designed specifically for the 40-and-above demographic. Not general financial advice. Not product sales. Education — delivered with patience, respect, and genuine care for where each participant sits in their own financial story.
Today, we serve participants from across Johor and beyond, offering three structured programmes that range from foundational financial literacy to comprehensive executive planning.
Why we do what we do
Our mission is to expand the financial understanding of Malaysians in the second half of their working lives, so they can approach retirement and beyond with clarity rather than uncertainty.
Clarity over complexity
We translate complex financial concepts into language that is direct, meaningful, and relevant to everyday Malaysian life.
Respect for each participant
Adults who have lived full lives bring rich experience to every session. We teach with that in mind, not around it.
No products. No pressure.
Bakti Finance does not sell or represent any financial product. Every session serves education only.

How we hold ourselves to account
Educator Qualification Standards
All Bakti Finance educators hold relevant professional qualifications in financial planning or adult education, with a minimum of ten years of practitioner experience.
Data Privacy & Confidentiality
All personal financial information shared during sessions is treated as strictly confidential. We comply fully with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010.
Curriculum Review Cycle
All programme content is reviewed and updated at least twice a year to reflect changes in Malaysian tax law, EPF policy, cost-of-living data, and financial regulations.
Small Session Commitment
We cap group sessions so every participant receives genuine attention. Where topics require individual depth, one-to-one sessions are offered as part of the programme.
Post-Programme Feedback
Every participant is invited to provide structured feedback after completing a programme. Feedback is reviewed quarterly and directly informs curriculum adjustments.
Independence Commitment
Bakti Finance maintains a strict policy of independence from all financial product providers. No commission arrangements exist and no referral fees are accepted.
Financial education built for the Malaysian context
Malaysia's financial landscape carries characteristics that are unique to this market — the structure of EPF contributions, the interaction between personal and corporate tax for business owners, the implications of multi-generational property holding, and the way cost of living varies sharply between Johor Bahru and Kuala Lumpur. Generic financial education imported from other markets often skips past these nuances entirely.
Bakti Finance was built from the ground up to address the specific decisions that Malaysians between 40 and 65 actually face. When a participant wants to understand whether their EPF balance is sufficient, we work with real Malaysian data, realistic Johor cost-of-living benchmarks, and current government policy — not approximations drawn from international frameworks.
For business owners and professionals navigating the line between personal and corporate wealth, our Executive Financial Planning Programme draws on Malaysia's Income Tax Act, corporate structuring norms, and the practical realities of succession for Malaysian family businesses. This level of contextual precision is what distinguishes Bakti Finance from more generalised financial education offerings.
We serve participants from a wide range of professional and personal backgrounds — salaried employees in their final working decade, self-employed individuals without employer-provided pension structures, and business owners who have accumulated wealth in assets rather than savings accounts. What unites them is a readiness to look at their financial picture honestly and calmly.
